Araro Ariraro is a musical documentary that revives the forgotten songs of Tamil plantation workers in colonial Malaya (as Malaysia was once known). These moving songs of love, longing, resistance, and survival once echoed across rubber estates—passed down by memory alone. Today, it falls upon us to preserve them before they are lost forever.

We are Om Sakthi Films, a collective based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and this is our debut production—an attempt to trace a century of the Indian Malaysian experience through the plantation context. If these songs stir something within you, we invite you to support this preservation of oral history. Because if we don’t act now, we may lose them for good.
